I find it interesting that Martin Smith, Ford of Europe’s executive design director, is quoted as saying Americans “want a basic entry-level car” and “Europeans want a stylish car”, does this mean Americans are going to get a milk-toast minature Ford 500 (now Taurus)?
Some other name.
The classic name Ford has used for it’s small car, was once the highest selling car in the world. Replaced by the Focus. Escort is a well known name, but some people may have bad memories of it.
Fiesta is the name Ford uses for it’s current B Car in Europe, which when re-designed will also be based on the Mazda2.
The Ford small car concept Ford showed at the 2007 Franfurt auto show is called Verve.
